Why Hire Union?

Some people like to put down unions and union electricians.  They don't know or explore what "union" really means.  

When it comes to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), "union" means well-trained, committed, productive, professional electricians. In short, the best electricians in Minnesota.

We are so proficient at what we do that our union workers and contractors often perform work for less than non-union electrical contractors.  What else would you expect from someone who cares enough about his or her profession to complete nearly 1,000 hours of classroom training and five years of supervised on-the-job training?

Twin City IBEW electricians receive over 1,000 hours of classroom training and 5 years of supervised on-the-job training through our nationally recognized apprenticeship programs.  We run two state-of-the-art training centers located in St. Paul and St. Michael.  Our certified journeyworkers receive ongoing qualifications that ensure that the best get even better.  The IBEW spends millions of dollars a year on training, certification and continuing education.  

Qualifications 

The Minneapolis and St. Paul Electrical Training Centers provide comprehensive training programs to prepare college and high school graduates for careers as union electricians.  When you hire a member of the IBEW, you benefit directly from a training tradition and discipline dating back to the early 1900's.
